CELEBRATE YOUR LOVE
CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations on your engagement! I look forward to celebrating your big day with you! Live harp music adds a undeniably unique energy and joy to your ceremony or reception. After we confirm the date of your wedding, we will schedule a free one-hour consultation at my home or via Zoom to choose your music. A bride once told me that choosing the music for her wedding was more fun than sampling cake! I can play any song in any style to make your experience the wedding of your dreams.
THE CEREMONY
For most weddings, we choose special pieces for the following times:
20 minutes of prelude music (While guests are seated)
Seating of the family and bridal party
Processional (Entrance of the Bride)
Unity candle or special song (If desired)
Recessional
10 minutes of postlude music (While guests exit the space)
You may also consider having harp music in the background during the entire ceremony. This is a beautiful way to create your own “live soundtrack” and set the mood of your wedding.
I am also available to play liturgical music, responsorial psalms, and Mass parts for Roman Catholic Nuptial Masses.
BEYOND THE CEREMONY
Your big day is all about you, your loved one, and your dearest friends and family. Consider including the harp during the special private moments of your wedding day, outside of the ceremony. Get creative! I am happy to play meaningful music:
During your “First Look”
While the Mother of the Bride dresses the Bride
During your couples’ photo shoot
During a pre-ceremony private prayer time or letter exchange
During the prelude, I can play your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding songs
If a loved one has passed, I can play a meaningful song before or during the ceremony to honor their life
THE LOOK
I want your wedding to be “picture perfect,” so I will coordinate my attire to match your theme and color scheme. You are also welcome to include my harp in your wedding photos before or after the ceremony.
THE LOCATION
I am more than happy to play indoors or outdoors, as long as I have a flat, hard surface and protection from the elements. The harp is very sensitive to heat and moisture, so I must be located in the shade or under a covered area. In the event of inclement weather, I recommend having an indoor backup location, as the harp cannot be exposed to rain or mist.
REHEARSALS & RECEPTIONS
Many couples ask if I need to attend the wedding rehearsal. I do not normally attend wedding rehearsals, but I am more than happy to play for your Rehearsal Dinner! After many years of playing for weddings, I know just how to tailor the music to perfectly fit the timing of your ceremony. We will discuss all the details of your wedding at your consultation to ensure that your ceremony is seamless.
After the ceremony, the harp is the perfect accompaniment for your cocktail hour or reception. After the ceremony, I quickly switch from “wedding mode” to “party mode”! During cocktail hour, I usually play a mix of jazz and pop songs, upbeat classical, classic rock, and popular film music. If you have a fun and meaningful song you’d like to hear that isn’t already in my repertoire, I am more than happy to learn new music at no extra charge.
